American Heart Association Honors Top Orange County Volunteers and Supporters
The American Heart Association’s (AHA) Orange County Division paid tribute to its volunteers and supporters at a special reception held in Irvine on July 15, 2014.
Don Hamman, Stuart Kane partner and 2014 Chair of the AHA Orange County Board of Directors, acted as the Master of Ceremonies for the event. Volunteers from Orange County were honored for their valuable contributions to the fight against heart disease and stroke, and for making a difference in the community through multicultural initiatives, community and youth outreach, and campaign and event leadership.
Hamman presented the Corporate Community Partner Award to Edwards Lifesciences. A longtime supporter of the AHA, Edwards made significant contributions in the past year to the Go Red For Women Luncheon, Heart & Stroke Ball and the Heart & Stroke Walk, where 700 employees from Edwards participated. More than 15 other Orange County-based businesses and individuals were also recognized for their contributions at the reception, including “Hospital Partner Award” recipient UC Irvine Medical Center and “Wellness Champion” Bergelectric.
Incoming Board officers were also elected at the event in a brief business meeting. Aimee Weisner of Edwards Lifesciences was elected to succeed Don Hamman as Chair of the Board.
