COVID-19 in the Workplace: A Town Hall for Employers
On Thursday, April 16th from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm (PDT) Stuart Kane LLP and Benefits Exchange Alliance (BXA) presented a Town Hall Webinar for Employers to answer questions on the latest employment law issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic including layoffs, furloughs, pay cuts, telework, and reduced work schedules, as well as emergency paid sick leave, emergency family and medical leave, and new unemployment benefits under the new Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
We designed this Webinar to answer your questions about the issues facing your business. We have all been overwhelmed with material to read on the medical, psychological, and legal impact of the pandemic, and we do not want to add more. Instead, we wanted to offer you the opportunity to get your questions answered by a panel of experts, with clear and practical advice on how to keep your company compliant. Our experts started with a brief overview, and then answered questions that were submitted by participants.
- Jayson Hynek is the founder and president of UC Advantage which provides expert advice on unemployment insurance administration for companies such as United Airlines, Red Roof Inns, Applebee’s, and Pepperdine University.
- Bruce May is an employment attorney with Stuart Kane LLP with more than 40 years of experience in employment counseling and litigation.
- Penny LaClair is a principal of Essential HR with more than 20 years of human resource management experience in company headquarters, independent divisions, and multistate operations.
- Rob Roof, President of BXA (Benefits Exchange Alliance).
