Stuart Kane Assists Client in Restaurant Eviction
Stuart Kane LLP successfully evicted a restaurant after its lease expired and the property, scheduled for a major renovation, was leased to a new tenant. The original tenant insisted upon a trial, but when the trial date arrived 29 days after the complaint was filed, lead counsel Don Hamman, with support from paralegal Tiffany Jung, was able to convince the plaintiff to admit unlawful detainer and agree to a judgment for possession. The tenant then vacated within 10 days of the entry of judgment, allowing the landlord to avoid the expense of a trial and having the marshal forcibly remove the tenant. A potentially expensive and disastrous situation for both sides was handled efficiently and inexpensively.
